Transits and Sade Sati

Where the planets stand today against your own chart — counted from your natal Moon, which is what Indian practice reads, rather than from a Sun sign.

Birth details

Name (optional)

Date of birthTime of birth

The time matters more than anything else here. Two hours out and the ascendant moves a whole sign, which rearranges every house in the chart.

Birth place

Gender (optional)

Two readings are defined in terms of it — the Kua number in vastu and the luck pillars in the Chinese chart — and neither has a formula for anything beyond male and female. Answer “other” or leave it and those two say so instead of guessing. Nothing else in your chart uses it.

What you will see

Each planet’s position today expressed as a house counted from your natal Moon, and whether Saturn’s seven and a half years are running — with the real ingress dates for each of the three phases.

Saturn takes about two and a half years per sign, so the boundaries below are computed by finding the actual crossings rather than dividing seven and a half years into three.
