Horoscope
Daily, weekly and monthly — read from your Moon sign, which is what Indian practice actually uses. A newspaper horoscope is keyed to the Sun sign, and for the same person on the same day the two disagree.
Your Moon sign is computed from the birth details, not chosen from a list — the Moon crosses a sign in about two and a quarter days, so a date on its own is a guess.
Why the Moon and not the Sun
Vedic practice reads the mind and the daily texture of life from the Moon, and transits are counted from the sign it occupied at birth. The Sun sign — the thing a newspaper column means by “your sign” — belongs to a different tradition and, because it is tropical rather than sidereal, usually names a different sign entirely.
There is a longer explanation of why the two systems disagree by roughly a whole sign.
What is computed today
Every number this page needs already exists. Transiting positions, the house each planet occupies counted from your natal Moon, and the three Sade Sati phases with their real ingress dates are all returned by the engine and shown on the transit page right now. What is missing here is only the writing.
