How a personal day is worked out

  1. Reduce your birth month and birth day to a single digit — that is your fixed part.
  2. Add the calendar year, reduced. That gives the personal year.
  3. Add the calendar month, reduced. That gives the personal month.
  4. Add the date. Reduced, that is the personal day.

There is no hidden step and no proprietary adjustment. Anyone can check a square with a pen, which is the point of showing the number on every one of them.

What this is not

A favourable personal day is not a prediction that something will go well. It is a conventional reading of a number, and it says nothing about the transits or the dasha running at the same time. For a date that matters, the transit page and the dasha timeline carry more weight in classical practice than the arithmetic here does.
